Al-Shams is an article written by Highestbounty123.

Al-Shams, or simply Shams, is a large, near continental-sized desert island located in the New World. It is most famous for its "Sand Sea" (砂海, Suna Umi), in which various dangerous creatures live beneath it, swimming through the sand as if they were sea creatures within actual waters. Said Sand Seas make up the majority of Shams, making living and traversing the lands difficult without proper guidance and equipment.

It also infamous for housing four colossal, over century old creatures whom once wreaked havoc in the island, nearly erasing all of civilization from the face of the island ages ago, but have stopped their several year war for as-of-yet unknown reasons. All four creatures, known as the "Desert Gods" (砂漠神, Sabakushin), are the most powerful and oldest creatures in the entirety of Al-Shams, who additionally stand out as being one of he few animals in the world whom possess bounties.

It stands out among many islands by lacking a true "authority" figure, no Kings or Rulers of any kind. Rather, the hierarchy of one's authority and influence is determined by their wealth, as such, the poor, who outnumber the rich, are considered the "average citizen", while the rich are the authority, overruled and overseen only by the high-ranking Marines assigned to Al-Shams.
