Hebi Hebi no Mi, Model: Amphithere is an article written by Garlicfork.

The Hebi Hebi no Mi, Model: Amphithere is a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit that grants its eater the ability to transform into an Amphithere, or an Amphithere hybrid. The fruit has currently been "eaten" by Tohil, a solid silver ring. Tohil currently associates herself with Namys Edea.

Strengths and Weaknesses[]

Due to Tohil's status as a simple silver ring, she remains in her hybrid form most of the time, granting her sentience. In this form, Tohil is small enough to wrap around ones finger like a ring, allowing her to pass unnoticed the majority of the time. She appears like an Amphithere: a snake like creature, with large feathered wings. Tohil is entirely silver in this form, and due to the weight of her wings is unable to truly fly. Regardless, she is able to slither quite swiftly, and both glide with her wings as well as use them to "jump" off the ground. This form is convenient for both being carried, and for performing infiltration.

When fully transformed, Tohil becomes an Amphithere in full. Almost draconic in appearance, she becomes around twenty metres long, and coated in iridescent scales. A row of razor sharp fins runs down Tohil's spine from her head to her tail. Her serpentine body is easily large enough to ride on, and has only two limbs: the large, feathered wings used to achieve flight. Tohil's wingspan is around thirteen metres, and on the end of her tail there are seven additional feathered growths that act as secondary wings to allow the far end of body to maintain altitude. Tohil has an incredibly powerful musculature, allowing her to manipulate her tail to great extents. This means she can use it as a whip, constrict her enemies, or even use the ancillary wings to grasp objects. Tohil's head is snakelike, with a highly powerful sense of smell contained in her tongue. This allows her to identify the source and direction of any smell in her vicinity, with a expansive range. This tongue is about a metre in length, and is also prehensile, meaning Tohil can grasp objects with it. On either side of her head lays a large horn, which acts mainly as additional armour for the head although they have been used for extremely close range attacks on occasion.

As with all Mythical Zoans, the Hebi Hebi no Mi, Model: Amphithere has a extra, supernatural ability. In the case of this fruit, this ability is not particularly combat oriented. When in either her hybrid of full beast form, Tohil is able to produce luminescent blue flames in her mouth, or from any of her feathers. These flames, when fired, allow for a number of effects related to space travel. The most common of these is to create discs of blue fire that act as gateways between two points. These portals can be as small or as large as Tohil wishes, and can be used for the transport of pretty much anything over incredible distances. The greatest strength of these spatial flames is that they can "burn" inanimate objects away, sending them into a pocket dimension that only Tohil can access. To bring these items back to the real world, Tohil simply must form more flames. When these flames burn out, the object will be left behind. This power is often used to allow Edea to store and access her entire armoury of guns conveniently.

There are few weaknesses to this fruit, but they do still exist. The large size of Tohil when she is in her full beast form makes her a prioritised target, however this is a limited weakness due to the agility and speed with which she can fly. When making portals, other beings can pass through them if they are not closed fast enough - this of particular note when Tohil is in full beast form, due to both the large size of the portals and also the long period of time that they must remain open as a result of her extensive length.

Trivia[]

  • Although an Amphithere is usually considered a dragon, it is basically just a winged snake, hence why I placed it in the Hebi series rather than the Ryu series.
