Kogane no Ken (黄金の拳 Kogane no ken, literally meaning "Golden Fist"), is a fighting style utilized by people from all over the world. The fighting style was created and founded by Koji as he traversed the world under the guise of a martial artist. Inspired by all of the different kinds of people he’d run across, he would create different styles that would suit them. The key component to the fighting style is the heart of the user, what kind of person they are and aim to be. It was named with the intent of bringing fortune to these people through their fists, tying it with gold as it's often seen as a form of fortune.

Overview[]

Created with the intent of channeling people’s hearts through their fists, Koji would go about and develop several different styles within Kogane no Ken. In order to learn each style, one must not only realize who they are as a person but also understand their own heart. People who reach a level of understanding over themselves are instead taught on how to utilize this understanding to not only reach further heights but also grow as people.

Koji would name the essence of the fighting style, “vitality” as he believed it tied people to their own energy of life.

Several martial artists who use Kogane no Ken have been seen getting their fists and feet surrounded in an aura. The cause behind this is unknown, however a popular belief is that it’s a form of haki that manifests itself.

Depending on the understanding a person has over themselves they are given a rank within Kogane no Ken. Lower ranked members would focus on the understanding they have over themselves whilst higher members would focus on the moves and fighting styles themselves.

Practition and Styles[]

There are a few ways to achieve knowledge about Kogane no Ken’s different styles. The most common way to practice and develop within the martial art is to register within one of several dojos scattered throughout the world. There are a total of 6 dojo’s, one for each one of the different blues as well as both halves of the Grand Line.

Another way very few have been taught is to seek out Koji and have him teach them. Though this is rare as he doesn’t accept any and every student that comes to him.

Depending on the nature, personality and heart of a person they’d be taught different styles. People are categorized for their ambitions, hearts and personalities through a categorization based on what Koji refered to as, “souls”.

Enkon[]

A person who seeks adventure, greatness and strives with both ambition on top of dreams would be categorized within the red soul category. These people would also be referred to as Enkon (炎魂, literally meaning Flaming Soul).” The name was inspired by people who had great dreams, ambitions and wills that Koji came across during his travels.

Gyokon[]

Encountering people who’d want to isolate themselves, kill others or even going as far as shutting down their emotions would be categorized as blue souls. Due to the coldness they emitted with their demeanor, Koji would be inspired to create the style of Gyokon (凝魂, literally meaning Freezing Soul).

Fūkon[]

Further into his travels, Koji encountered people who’d take pride in being free. Those who weren’t bound by any laws or morals but did as they pleased. Individuals with this level of freedom reminded Koji of the winds blowing throughout the world, not bound or stopped by any obstacles that stood in their path. Koji would place these individuals into the category of white souls. Creating the style of Fūkon (風魂, literally meaning Wind soul), he’d draw some inspiration from Junifu no Waza.

Once mastered it's able to send Vitality with extreme precision.

Golden Swirl[]

Golden Swirl (黄金の渦巻き Kogane no Uzumaki) is one of the harder techniques to master, as the user must first have mastered Golden Blaze and work on maintaining it without the drawback. Whilst Golden Blaze only makes the fists and feet be the only place where the area is affected, Golden Swirl makes it so that the aura which the energy is petruding from is increased. The entire limb which is struck by the user will get filled with a poison which causes every muscle to spasm whilst causing heavy pain for a few seconds, this attack causes huge exhaustion for the enemy as the pain is insufferable. This makes the attack great for chipping down opponents rather quickly, although the user gets exhausted themselves in the process. The attack lasts longer depending on the users strength and level of haki.
