Pika Pika no Mi is an article written by BQD.

The Pika Pika no Mi is a Logia-type Devil Fruit that allows the user to create, control, and transform into light at will, turning the user into a Light Human (光人間 Hikari Ningen?). It enables the user to move at the speed of light and transport him/herself by means of reflection. It was eaten by Vryrch Lars.

Etymology[]

  • "Pikapika" (ピカピカ/ぴかぴか?) is a Japanese onomatopoeia for glimmering or shining light.

Appearance[]

PikaPikaYuh

Strengths and Weaknesses[]

As a Devil Fruit of the Logia category, the Pika Pika no Mi grants its user the ability to control, create and transform into light itself. Lars is able to utilize light in any way he sees fit, such as in the form of weapons, laser beams, or to enhance his physicality.

He is able to transform into light whenever he sees fit, without the use of Kenbunshoku, he can do so at any moment due to his reflexes. He can travel at the speed of light, as long as he does so in a straight line, as well as being able to reflect himself off of any surface, a rule that most of his attacks follow.

Like all Logia, his intangibility can be countered by users of Busoshoku Haki. Additionally, to achieve light speed itself, a small time frame of a few seconds allows his opponents to react. And Devil Fruits such as the Mira Mira no Mi can completely nullify certain aspects of the Pika Pika no Mi.

Usage[]

Unlike most Logia users, who rely completely on their elemental abilities to overcome their opponents, Lars focuses on combining the attributes the Pika Pika no Mi with his existing Ninjutsu, as well as his stealth and surprise based fighting style. In tandem with his ninjutsu-based abilities, Lars often creates weapons akin to those that ninja use. These come in the form of shuriken, kunais, ninjato and even nunchaku, which he often reflects off of any surface to constantly suffocate whoever he faces. Through the refraction of light, Lars can hide both himself and his attacks from sight. He can also access techniques such as such as Psithyros.

The most overwhelming advantage, and most used aspect of the fruit by Lars, is quite obviously, its speed. With it, Lars is able to achieve travel at the speed of light, allowing him to outspeed even the fastest of opponents. Most often than not, this allows him to dispatch of entire enemy platoons before they can even react. [1] Additionally, the fruit enhances the speed and strength of his attacks. To the point where he can perforate through his opponent’s bodies with a single strike, as well as perform many actions in a single second.[2]

Due to the nature of the Pika Pika no Mi, and Lars’ mastery of it, he can easily condense his strikes, to concentrate power, and prevent the environment from being harmed.[3] Likewise, he can spread the powers of his attacks to cause massive explosions. By this same logic, Lars is able to blind the opposition by simply existing, and often mixes this with his Kenbunshoku Haki to completely deny the senses of others.

Additionally, Lars can control his Devil Fruit to the extent that he can purposely manipulate his form when transforming light,[4] as well as change parts of its attributes selectively, such as heat.[5]

Techniques[]

  • Totsuka-no-Tsurugi no Jutsu (十拳剣の術 (とつかのつるぎのじゅつ) , Totsuka-no-Tsurugi no Jutsu?, literally meaning "Sword of Ten Hand-Breadths Technique"): Forming light between his hands, Lars amasses light particles before condensing them in the form of a large and highly ornate ninja blade. While serving as a blade for Lars to use in combat, Tosuka-no-Tsurugi also possesses the innate advantage of the element that it is made out of. With a single swing of his blade, Lars can release numerous, incredibly sharp slashes of light. Like most of his techniques, Lars can willingly concentrate Totsuka no Tsurugi’s power as he sees fit, allowing him to pierce through the strongest of shields.[6] It is named after the Totsuka-no-Tsurugi.
  • Ryugu-jo no Jutsu (竜宮城 (りゅうぐじぉ) , Ryūgū-jō no Jutsu?, literally meaning "Dragon Palace Castle Technique"): Ryugu-jo is a technique that can be activated either slowly, through Lars’ light-enhanced movements or instantly by morphing his light into a cage of sorts. When activated, the cage takes the shape of several light dragons, interconnected between each other as hardened constructs of light. Within this cage, Lars is able to reflect not only himself off of these constructs, but any of his attacks, allowing either to bounce off Ryugu-jo, in order to become unpredictable, but increase the force of his moves, while trapping his opponents simultaneously. Lars often utilizes this move in conjunction with his light weapons.[7] It is named after the Ryugu-jo.

The effects of Kongo no Jutsu

  • Kongo no Jutsu (金剛の術 (こんごうのじぅつ) , Kongō no Jutsu?, literally meaning "Indestructible Diamond Technique”): much like Totsuka-no-Tsurugi, Lars forms a construct by condensing light, though this time a bow, utilizing his utmost concentration to make it as life-like as possible. When created, the bow reaches the same height as Lars himself, along with it, Lars creates a massive trident-like arrow, which through his skill in archery, he releases perfectly towards his opponent. As most often than not, it travels in a straight line, Kongo no Jutsu is unparalleled in terms of both speed and strength in comparison to his other techniques, despite the time it takes to set up.[8] And is most often than not used to end fights in a single blow. [9] It is based on Kongo from Japanese mythology.
