"Kamaitachi" Selkirk Nadya was an infamous Super Rookie pirate from West Blue, the captain and navigator of the Guardsmen Pirates and a member of House Selkirk. She had quit piracy to live with her family on Agnis, but ended up being captured by slave traders alongside her husband during the event known as the Raid on Agnis, and ended up being sold to the World Nobles as slaves. She left behind a single child, that would eventually follow in her footsteps and become a pirate captain, just like her.
Appearance[]

Nadya's appearance without her Haori
Nadya was characterized by her petite stature, as well as her signature dark hair kept in two long braids (a common trait across all blood members of House Selkirk), alongside her gray eyes. Her usual apparel consisted of a white sleeveless Haori with her Crew's Jolly Roger on the back, common among her crewmates, alongside a yellow obi tied around her waist to denote her status as the crew's captain. Under her Haori, she wore a backless black uniform and armbands. She would remove her Haori if she was taking a fight seriously.
Personality[]
Outwardly, Nadya was a calm, serious and pragmatic woman, that led the Guardsmen Pirates with firmness and decisiveness. She had a strict moral compass, refraining from killing anyone unless absolutely necessary, and was known for her fairness in combat. She was always ready to put herself in danger to save comrades or even bystanders during her battles, even if they were life-or-death situations. Nadya was proud of her status as a pirate, and refused to haul down her Jolly Roger under any circumstance, even proudly planting it on her house's roof after she retired.
Despite her serious demeanor in the eyes of the public, Nadya was truly a caring and relaxed woman, a side of her that was only truly known to her family and crew. She would often drink, joke and laugh together with them, and they became as close as family overtime. She was a caring mother and wife to her son, Selkirk Geryon, and her husband, Selkirk Gideon, respectively.
Ultimately, her love for her son was so great, that she and Gideon sacrificed their freedom (and ultimately, their lives) to defend him, knowing they would inevitably lose their last battle due to their years without combat or training. Even then, Nadya and Gideon's main concern was for their son to be safe, and they decided to fight to the very end for him.
Powers and Abilities[]
When she was active as a pirate, Nadya was recognized as the most powerful member of an already quite powerful crew. As the Captain of the Guardsmen Pirates, she had authority over the entire crew prior to its disbandment. While her Bounty is unknown, it was allegedly quite high - revealing how much the Government thought of her as a great threat. However, after eight years without fighting or training, her power significantly decreased. Despite this, she was still able to fend off the raiders that attacked their home for a few hours, showing that she was still a capable fighter despite her inactivity.
Physical Abilities[]

An example of Nadya's overwhelming speed
Nadya was famed for being a particularly fast fighter, being able to partially emulate CP9's Soru technique due to her sheer speed. She often combined her speed with her Swordsmanship to deal powerful slashes, so fast they were unseen to the untrained eye, thus granting her the epithet "Kamaitachi". She also had above-average physical strength. However, after eight years of inactivity, her speed and strength decreased significantly. Even then, she was able to put up a fight against the raiders that attacked her home.
Swordsmanship[]
- Main article: Divine Sword Style
Nadya was a powerful swordswoman, as shown by her being the creator and foremost user of Divine Sword Style, a Flying Slash-based Fighting Style made to complement her speed. She was classified as a Gente Blade (柔剣 Jūken, litt. "Gentle Sword") user, and was capable enough as a teacher to pass on her knowledge to her son, who would in turn become an experienced swordsman. However, after years without a serious fight, Nadya's skills with a blade became rusty. She, however, was still able to defend her home from raiders for a few hours before eventually perishing in front of the onslaught.
Equipment[]
- Main article: Goriyaki
Nadya was also the first wielder of the Meito Goriyaki, which was forged specifically for her to use. She used it during the latter half of her pirating career, and ended up bequeathing it to her son before she went on to fight to defend Agnis.

Nadya was an expert and seasoned navigator, that managed to bring her crew all the way to the New World. Her expertise as a navigator and cartographer was then passed down to her son.
