Shape Manipulation is an article written by EmperorSigma.

Shape Manipulation is a type of control and ability to give, as the name suggests, shape to attacks in order to emphasize a technique.[1]

Overview[]

The true purpose of shape manipulation is to increase the transparency of a technique in various ways such as; the strength, the size, the range and most importantly, the shape. By doing all of these things a technique's base can be altered drastically to the point it sometimes may appear as though the user is doing something completely different. Most of the time these shapes consist of being formed into things such as creatures or simply just objects.[1] Because of the freedom Shape Manipulation allows its possibilities are endless and can be considered one of the most versatile fighting styles to date.

For example, by generating fire albeit through super natural means, racial abilities, or simply devil fruits, a user can make it take the shape of a lion or tiger or even a crescent moon as with the case of Landorus Linzi and Dragon D. Dexter.[2] However, on the surface while this may seem like a simply task to preform, it has been noted by skill warriors that to truly utilize this fighting style, one must practice for years in order to refine it to the point that they can manipulate all forms of an elements shape in one fell swoop.
