Siren Tribe is an article written by Ash9876.

Sirens are a Race inhabiting the Blue Sea. They are said to be a beautiful race of women that bear close ties to water, although it is revealed males do exist within their population. However, for the sake of slavery, they are considered less valuable by the primary dealers. Across many islands, the Sirens are noted for their beauty and song that is said to grant any seafarer uninterrupted passage.

Appearance[]

Sirens, for the most part, are nearly identical to humans with a couple of exceptions. They possess hair that is normally aquatic in color, unless one is a half-breed, and they are noted to possess feathers growing across their bodies as a form of pseudo-clothing. They appear to be highly sensitive to changes and are likely a product of their environmental sensitivity and migratory behavior. Half-breeds tend to have fewer feathers, and because of their overall reduced sensitivity, they are mainly concentrated across their wrists and ankles.

Harmonia[]

Harmonia (ハーモニーア Hāmoniā?) is the unique trait available to Sirens. When a Siren sings, their unique pitch sends a frequency that provides energy to micro-organisms named Seira (セイラ Seira?) by the Sirens. The energy provided by a Siren's song enables them to mature and reproduce at much faster rates than if they were not influenced by a Siren's song. Through generations of this song influencing their development in the Siren's initial habitat, Seira and Sirens developed a mutualistic relationship.

Seira are a unique micro-organism that exist near aquatic environments. They are an aqueous, gel-like micro-organism which together form bubble-like layers on the sea which enables certain passengers to travel across or maintain safe refuge in the treacherous waters that are all across the Siren's island systems. In terms of overall physical structure, they resemble the coating used on ships extracted from the Yarukiman Mangrove. As such, when harvested properly, Seira may also be used as a ship's coating to a temporary degree.

Because Seira grow at a much faster rate when exposed to the sound made by Sirens, Sirens have learned to harness this relationship of mutualism to their advantage. They are able to call upon and facilitate the growth of Seira to incredible degrees, creating bubble-like structures for a wide variety of purposes. Because Seira live near aquatic environments, the dryer an environment is, the lesser number of Seira can be propagated and used by the Siren in question.

Due to the nature of a Siren and Seira's relationship being mutualistic, Seira will only survive so long as a Siren continues to use their voice. Likewise, while general commands may be given to Seira, they are ultimately simplistic micro-organisms. Complex commands are out of their reach and as such, can only be used to support the Siren in a combat sense, as opposed to being their sole means of combat.
