One Piece Role-Play Wiki

Pacifica, also simply known as the World, is the main setting of the One Piece Role-playing Universe. It is the home world of various races, including, but not limited to Fish-Men, Mink Tribe, Humans, and Giants, as well as a plethora of strange animals and creatures such as Zunesha, and Sea Kings.

The period in which the story takes place is the Second Great Pirate Age, which officially began in 1525, the year that Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates conquered the Grand Line and reached Laugh Tale before disappearing from the world. The current events within the story take place over fifty years later, in the year of 1584.

Overview[]

Pacifica is an extremely massive-sized planet, approximately the same size as Jupiter, the famed Gas Giant, making it one of the biggest planets in its relative Solar System. Accordingly, nearly one thousands three hundred Earths can fit into Pacifica. Due to the size of the planet, there is an intense field of gravity far surpassing the gravity on earth, nearly ten-times the amount of a normal-earth based planet, which has been instrumental in the innate strength-based feats of the humans and other species of the world of One-Piece.

Pacifica has six natural satellites that orbit it, with one of the satellites possessing a separate satellite of its own. This, the planet’s gravitational pull, as well as the enormous magnetic field generated from having a massive iron core, has resulted in a variety of strange weather conditions and unique topography, such as Sky Islands. The intense gravitational force of Pacifica has disastrous effects on the tectonic plates of the planet, as the crust is extremely thin, leaving the tectonic plate system extremely complex and fractured, resulting in a single enormous continent, with millions of islands.

Blue Sea[]

Like earth, much of the planet is predominately water, dominated by the Blue Sea (青海 Seikai?), a large body of salt-water. The Blue Sea is segmented into four major quadrants that are named after their cardinal placements: East Blue, West Blue, North Blue, and South Blue. These divisions are geographically decided, as there are two natural barriers that separate the seas. The first if a narrow strip of ocean called the Grand Line, and the second is the world’s only true continent called the Red Line. The Grand Line runs horizontally across the planet, while the Red Line runs vertically. Each separate quadrant of the Blue Sea is incredibly massive, resulting in literal thousands of kingdoms arising within each one.

Grand Line[]

The Grand Line (偉大なる航路 (グランド・ライン) Gurando Rain?) is an ocean current that is located approximately around the entire equator of Pacifica and is ultimately what separates the quadrants north from south. The grand line is divided into two separate parts by the red line, called the New World and Paradise. Due to the size of the planet, coupled with the red line dividing the world from east to west, it is the only known way to circumnavigate the planet, and has only been successfully done by Gol D. Roger and Monkey D. Luffy, both former Pirate Kings. The extreme magnetic field of Pacifista, as well as the presence of the additional satellites, place a heavy strain on the equatorial region of the world, making the grand line an exceptionally dangerous place due to the unpredictability of its weather and sea currents. The grand line is enormous in terms of length and width, and is, comparative to earth, as wide as the entire Atlantic Ocean.

Calm Belt[]

The Calm Belt (凪の帯 (カーム・ベルト) Kāmu Beruto?) are regions positioned directly outside of the grand line, separating this ocean current from the North, West, East, and South Blue. This belt was named for not possessing any wind or sea currents at all, making sailing through it extremely difficult with the use of an engine or other propulsive base device. However, this region, due to its calm waters, is also nested with Sea Kings who enjoy the serene region. Traveling through the calm belt is one of the few ways from a sea in the northern hemisphere to one in the southern hemisphere. Like the grand line, the calm belt is enormous. Both belts are roughly the same width of the grand line together, meaning that individually they are half the size of the Atlantic Ocean.
