"Fire Hair" Yoann D. Kytaro[9][1] is the founder and Captain of the Fire Hair Pirates[2][3]. He is a pirate rookie hailing from a small village in the South Blue[1].
Born the only son of Yoann D. Goro and Yoann D. Anne, Kytaro was raised and grew up in Hana Village. He lived a peaceful life until the age of 10 when he heard the tales of the late king of the pirates, Monkey D. Luffy, and was inspired by him. Since that day, it had been his goal to find the One Piece and achieve the status as the "King of the Pirates"[12]. When he turned seventeen, Kytaro set sail on his own in pursuit of his dream.
As a pirate, Kytaro has stood defiantly against numerous powers—starting with the seasoned pirates of the South Blue and eventually challenging forces on both national and global scales, including the formidable Marines. In his first three months, he fought against the likes of Baisekii[13] and Beckham Van Pyro[14], and even lead a raid on Bilim Island[15], resulting in him receiving an impressive bounty of 25,000,000[8]. By the fourth month, he had risen to the infamy due to his involvement with the events at Twin Cape[16] and subsequent bounty increase to
52,000,000[7]. However, shortly after entering the Grand Line, Kytaro and his crew simply disappeared[17]. They were presumed dead.
It would not be until three years later that Kytaro would appear again[4], getting into a confrontation with the Expendable Finwind[18], making ‘friends’ with Kenway Olympus[19] and making a crewmate out of Soldarian[20] on Fish-Man Island. Since then, Kytaro has been involved in all kinds of events, constantly surpassing himself and fighting against numerous individuals in order to become stronger through experience. The most significant of these events were his victories over Rear Admiral Archen, Commander Blueberry[21] and Captain Kenzo[22], followed by defeat by Selkirk Geryon[23], acting as the primary reasons behind his significant bounty increase to 102,000,000.
Changed both mentally and physically, his dream seems to have changed as well, with Kytaro now declaring that he wants to 'explore every corner of the world and learn its secrets'.[24]
Appearance[]
Kytaro is a young man of rather short stature, with a round face framed by naturally wavy or perhaps shaggy hair colored in a orange-yellow to red gradient, somewhat reminiscent of fire. This is a trait that has earned him the designation "Fiery-Haired Boy (Hi Kami no Shōnen 火髪の少年?)" to intimates. He has a slim, lightly muscular build body. His eyes are large and somewhat circular, their irises, the same shade of reddish orange as his hair, and are usually stretched quite wide, giving him an innocent, energized appearance. He also sported rather childish freckles (inherited from his mother).
Clothing-wise, Kytaro is dressed in a white top, covered by an unbuttoned short-sleeved blue jacket with red and yellow accents, a white knee-length shorts with blue checks at the bottom, with a red sash tied around his waist. He also often ties a black bandana around his head, around where his hairline starts. This one is partially veiled under Kytaro's hair at the level of his forehead, but it is clearly visible from Kytaro's ear. And the knot on the back of Kytaro's head swings and floats in the wind[1].
After his return to action, his appearance changed completely. Physically, he had changed significantly since the beginning of his pirate career, growing from five feet seven inches to a solid six feet three inches tall. His skin had darkened slightly due to the harsher living conditions, taking on more of a warm medium-brown tone. His hair, having retained its characteristic flame color, is now much longer and kept in a slightly messier style.
By this time, Kytaro’s head was no longer round but more angular. His eyes looked sharper, outlined in dark lines that made them stand out. Even his irises had changed shape, no longer soft and round. His once thin eyebrows were now thicker, giving him a naturally serious look. Kytaro’s most striking transformation is undoubtedly his muscularity. Along with an increase in overall size, his muscle mass has grown significantly. His once slender frame has been replaced by a much more imposing physique, with sharply defined muscles. His physical transformation, along with the other changes, had rendered him so unrecognizable that even someone holding a three-year-old bounty poster of Kytaro struggled to identify him[5].
Kytaro’s clothing style hasn’t really changed much, but he does dress more casually now, like he just throws something on without thinking too much. He wears his bandana lower than before, right above his brow ridge, which props his hair up instead of lying flat like it used to.
Following his clash against Selkirk Geryon, Kytaro sports a scar running vertically across his torso.

Powers and Abilities[]
Overview[]
Kytaro is a highly skilled individual who excels in combat and intelligence, which is reflected in his bounty. Combining his physical attributes, devil fruit and unorthodox fighting style, he can be a true master on any battlefield. Despite his youth, Kytaro has gained notoriety by facing countless enemies and through his constant growth.
Despite his harmless and even warm appearance, Kytaro is nothing less than a true combat genius. His fighting style is described as unorthodox and is very difficult to parry because of its explosiveness and surprise effect, which is a pillar of it. His fighting skills, from the moment he entered the New World, were already enough to take Finwind, an Expendable and New World veteran, by surprise several times, and even force him to give his all in a duel[25][26][27].
Perhaps Kytaro's most astonishing feature is its ability to learn and progress incredibly quickly. When he entered the New World, the contrast between the him before and the him then had managed to shock many[28]. In his confrontations, the rate at which he progresses could be compared to a genuine explosion. He just seems to get stronger with each confrontation.
Another of his outstanding traits is quite simply his instinct, which often enables him to get out of the way of devastating attacks and situations he has never been confronted with before[29]. In fact, it goes much further than that, as his instinct has already enabled him to dodge attacks as if by automatism, his body moving without the slightest thought or command from the pirate[30]. In addition, his intuition also allows him to "read" his opponents like books in no time, and to perform maneuvers at specific times to create advantageous situations for himself later on, foreseeing in advance what his opponent would do; thinking like his opponent to turn the odds in his favor[31].
Physical Abilities[]
Contrary to what his size might suggest, and even without his Devil Fruit powers or Haki, Kytaro possesses extraordinary strength, speed, agility, endurance and stamina, allowing him to perform feats that would be physically impossible for a normal human, and to survive dangers that most would consider impossible to survive.
Strength[]
Kytaro possesses enormous physical strength, and has done so since he was a teenager. When he first became a pirate, he was already able to carry a giant on his back effortlessly, and even run while carrying him[32]. His punches proved strong enough to cause a mink's skull to literally shatter from one blow to the face[33].
After training with Xuan Wu for some time, Kytaro's strength skyrocketed, allowing him to take on and defeat two powerful marines simultaneously as he first entered the New World[21]. He was also able to hold his own in battle and even overwhelm the New World elites at times. He was also strong enough to completely overpower the strongest attack of a transformed Mythical Zoan user, which subsequently led to the latter's defeat, crushed to the ground [34].
Speed & Agility[]
Speed. Probably his most valuable bodily trait, ever since he started out as a pirate. Kytaro constantly abuses his speed in battle, no matter what enemy he's up against[35]. As a result, he has always been able to hold his own against opponents who are stronger or more skilled than he is[36]. As long as his speed is greater than his opponent's, he can prevail, regardless of whether he is inferior in other areas[37].
Kytaro is the holder of considerable speed feats. Defeating high-ranking marines in a flash[37], exceeding sound[38] and wind[39], running so fast that he seems to glide without friction[40] and avoiding attacks from people renowned for their speed[30] are just some of Kytaro's achievements. He is also capable of using relatively short shooting windows to try and hit his opponents[41].
Kytaro's agility allows him to perform extremely acrobatic manoeuvres like it's nothing[30]
Durability & Endurance[]
Kytaro’s body is remarkably, immensely resilient, which is one of his greatest assets[42]. His ability to always stand up after taking an absurd amount of damage and having endured countless attacks has already led several opponents to be simply stunned and wonder about what his true abilities were[43][44].
He has shown a willingness to endure self-inflicted harm to keep fighting[45][46][47], continuing to fight as if his injuries don’t even matter[42][48]. Even unconventional attacks meant to damage him from the inside fail to slow him down[49]. However, he still feels pain, evident when Geryon’s relentless slashes take a toll on his body[50][51].
Kytaro took on extreme temperatures[52], lightning[52], extreme poison[42] and even light[53], and still continued to fight until he won[54] or until he simply could not fight anymore[51].
Upon using his Devil Fruit, his hardening ability push his immense durability to a completely new level, as he can take on and endure attacks of immense scale[46][49], be them empowered by various factors or not.

Devil Fruit[]
- Main article: Fai Fai no Mi
During his youth, Kytaro consumed the Fai Fai no Mi[11], a Paramecia class Devil Fruit that allows him to create, manipulate and turn his body into muscle fibers[10].
He can use this ability in a plethora of ways to add onto his offensive capabilities.
He frequently uses these abilities in hand-to-hand combat, sprouting several tendrils of muscle fibers on his body to act as extra fists or legs; he can imbue these tendrils with Armament Haki to deliver extremely hard punches and kicks. He is also able to enlarge his false limbs to gigantic size and stretch them to increase his attack range[55][31]. By contracting the muscles in a given area, Kytaro is able to massively increase its power, as seen when he covered a distance of several kilometres in a single leap after tensing his leg muscles[56].
Kytaro has also developed inhuman, superhuman control over every muscle in his body, which means virtually his entire body. This control is manifested by an unequalled flexibility shown by Kytaro, as he demonstrated several times in his fight against Selkirk Geryon, against whom he performed prowess that could have given the illusion that he was made of paper[30][57].
Kytaro is also capable of shaping muscle fibres, making them into just about anything he can think of. His preferred use of this ability is to create new limbs, which can give him a significant advantage over his opponents[58]. These false limbs are extremely powerful and can be used to function as new limbs, and can even be imbued with Haki. Kytaro was also able to turn his muscle fibres - those from his body as well as those created with his fruits - into things like blades, clubs or balls.
Defensively, this fruit is no slouch either. The first defensive ability Kytaro demonstrates is hardening[10]. By hardening the muscles of a given part, it makes that part impenetrable and unbreakable[59]. This is, however, nullified by certain unorthodox attacks, such as those that can impact the inside of the body directly[49], or those imbued with better Haki than Kytaro's[50].
His ability, through his fruit, lets him control where the damage to his body happens. Instead of taking damage in the usual way, he can choose a specific area of his body to "generate" muscle from, in combat[58]. When that generated muscle is harmed, the damage will transfer to the part of his body where the muscle was originally created[60]. Essentially, he can shift the harm to a different part of his body, based on where the muscle is generated from. As a result, he often creates his artificial limbs from areas of his body he considers less vital, like his buttocks or sides. This way, even if those limbs get damaged, he can still continue functioning normally since the damage would affect parts of his body that he's less concerned about, allowing him to keep going even if they take incredible amounts of damage.
What's more, his ability also allows for a form of regeneration, to a certain extent. He can generate muscle wherever he is attacked, temporarily "healing" the damage[61]. However, this regeneration is only temporary because once he can no longer sustain it, the wounds will resurface[62].
Jumbo Mode[]
Kytaro created and first demonstrated this technique in his battle against Shimizu and ended up playing a major role in defeating the Lieutenant Commander-ranked Marine[63]. Jumbo Mode is a heightened state in which Kytaro’s heart rate skyrockets, forcing his metabolism into overdrive. This sudden biological surge drastically amplifies his physical capabilities, making him significantly stronger and faster for as long as the mode remains active. However, the extreme acceleration of his metabolism comes with a cost as his body rapidly burns through nutrients, causing his stamina to drain at an alarming rate. On top of that, his temperature soars to a dangerously high level, generating so much heat that his sweat vaporizes instantly upon leaving his pores, forming a steam cloud around him.
An unexpected side effect of this technique is that the intense heat not only forces Kytaro’s sweat glands to work overtime but also causes the water and other liquids inside his body to be released as sweat. This rapid expulsion of fluids helps counterbalance the overwhelming internal heat. Interestingly, this process also serves as a unique form of self-healing; if Kytaro is poisoned, the toxins in his bloodstream are carried out through the sweat, effectively evaporating the poison from his system before it can do significant harm. However, this process does little more than merely reduce the damage.
Initially, he could not maintain this transformation for more than 30 seconds before urgently needing food and water. But, since his appearance in the New World, he has shown itself capable of maintaining this transformation for several minutes[36]. Even further, he manages to abuse it, effectively removing its limits and making his heart beat as fast as possible[64]. However, this maneuver can be very dangerous because the temperature then becomes so high that his interiors literally start to boil and puts his heart at risk of rupturing at any time.
Haki[]
“ | I didn’t spend two years slacking off, y’know—I learned Haki! Gotta have it if you wanna get stronger, right?! | ” |
—Yoann D. Kytaro to Blueberry |
Since then, and from the moment he entered the New World, Kytaro has shown himself to be an abile user of Haki, in stark contrast to his former self[28].
Armament Haki[]
Kytaro is a skilled user of Armament Haki, allowing him to attack opponents with great offensive power[65]. In particular, he is able to imbue the false limbs he creates with his Devil Fruit, as well as his entire body, the latter of which he learned spontaneously in the middle of a fight with Selkirk Geryon[66].
Observation Haki[]
Kytaro possesses the ability to use Observation Haki[67]. In particular, he showed a penchant for sensing strong presences and distinguishing the strong from the weak[68][69].
Miscellaneous Abilities[]
Intelligence[]
Despite his usually reckless and overconfident behaviour, Kytaro possesses a high level of intelligence, as evidenced by his vast knowledge and skills. His insatiable curiosity and thirst for learning set him apart from an early age. This would only become more true once he ingested his Devil Fruit, after which event he would take a particular interest in biology. It would be worth it. When he would become a pirate, he would use his knowledge many times over to become better and achieve his goals, as evidenced by his improvised invention of his Jumbo Mode[63].
However, it wasn’t until he got under Xuan Wu's supervision that he was able to truly flourish. Stranded with the wise individual, he would learn all he could from this inexhaustible source of knowledge, developing his knowledge in every aspect. It was an exhausting process, but one that paid off, as he quickly became a ruthless tactician. With his newly-acquired knowledge and mastery, he performed amazing feats.
Talent[]
Despite the fact that he may not be known for it (or known at all, for that matter), Kytaro is an extremely talented fighter, capable of creating or copying techniques on the spot. He first demonstrated this ability when he created his Jumbo Mode, which he created on a risky whim in order to finish his fight and save his vice-captain in the shortest possible time[63] – a mission in which he succeeded. He managed to appropriate or create "makeshift" versions of Rokushiki and even Haki techniques just after seeing the real or a more advanced one just once[70][66].
